Prayer Circle

Description

Drawn from an excerpt of "The Tempering" as rendered by :iconhonor-to-serve:

"The Commander's knees ached, but he ignored it. He concentrated on the prayer circle - the weight of the hands on his shoulders, the feel of the material as his own hands rested on the two men beside him, the sound of the voices echoing around the room. Elsbeth's massive ship had come into view just an hour before. Half of that time had since been spent in fervent prayer - for protection, for guidance, for wisdom of all involved. Now Jake's mind was beginning to wander, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to finish a thought.

There was a pause. Jake took the opportunity to close the conversation.

"Heavenly Father, we thank You for this breakthrough. You have brought one of our greatest banes to our doorstep, and we eagerly seize the opportunity You have handed us. As we have asked, protect us now, and be our shield. Once more we ask for Your knowledge and wisdom in how to deal with Elsbeth. Thank you. In Jesus' name-"

"Amen." "

I KNEW I had to try to draw this the minute I read it..there is supposed to be 5 of them..BUT..I still have to work on the perspective on that one to get it right..heres my first try....I am SOOOOOOOOO happy with how this came out...THANKS Chrissie for the beautiful words that inspire :)

I a) love the drawing and b) love Honor's writing. I told her earlier that when I read it, I said "Amen" aloud, along with the characters, because the two of you have done a fantastic job of making things come alive- you with your ideas and your drawings and god-given artistic talent, and her with her words and amazing talent with writing.

Thank you both.
